Annual Rib Challenge BBQ Cook Off

Saturday, April 13 – Boyd’s Equipment

Calling all competitive BBQ cook teams! Join RMHC Amarillo for a fun-filled weekend of smoking meats and slinging sauces on Saturday April 13th at Boyd’s Equipment in Amarillo. Several dozen teams from the Texas Panhandle and surrounding High Plains will come together and face off in this official Texas state cooking competition, as they compete to dish out the best in ribs, chicken, and beans. This event is sanctioned by the International Barbecue Cookers Association (IBCA) and is a prime opportunity for teams to earn points and advance to other IBCA competitions later in the year. More than $1,700 in prize money is up for grabs, in addition to a trophy for the grand champion cook team. This event is strictly a cooking event, and regrettably will not be selling tickets to the general public. In 2018, more than $10,000 in proceeds were raised, helping to provide more than 500 nights of family stays.
