The Ronald McDonald House of Amarillo serves children and their families by providing a temporary "home away from home" for families who must travel to Amarillo for medical treatment for their children, and by supporting programs that directly benefit children and their families.

The Ronald McDonald House of Amarillo is the only organization that provides temporary housing for families whose children are receiving treatment for serious illnesses at Amarillo hospitals. In an effort to lessen the burden, keep the family intact, and enhance the quality of life for families, the RMHA provides services in a caring, home-like atmosphere.

Each guest family has a private bedroom and bathroom, and use of a centralized kitchen, dining room/den, living room, laundry room and play nooks. Each family is asked to contribute $20.00 per night. A Share-A-Stay program may provide financial assistance for those who qualify; no family is turned away for inability to make a monetary contribution for their stay.

A small staff is responsible for day-to-day operations of the House 365 days of the year.
