How To Stay

Home-away-from-home for families

The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Amarillo provides a home-away-from-home for families with pediatric patients (ages 0-21) receiving medical treatment in Amarillo. In order to stay, we ask that families reside outside the city limits of Amarillo, though exceptions may be made on a circumstantial basis, with recommendations from the physician or service provider.

In order to be eligible to stay at the house, all family stays require a referral from the hospital social worker or the medical service provider. We ask that any guest under 18 years of age be accompanied by a parent or guardian during their stay. While the majority of our families have premature babies in the NICU or pediatric oncology patients, we are able to serve families of pediatric patients receiving ANY type of medical care including but not limited to sports medicine, behavioral health treatment, physical therapy, dental, vision, surgeries, cancer treatment etc.

Our House is also able to provide a home away from home to mothers experiencing a high-risk pregnancy, if accompanied by a caregiver or guardian over the age of 18, and with written recommendation from their physician.

If you have further questions regarding eligibility to stay at the Ronald McDonald House in Amarillo,  please give us a call  at (806) 358-8177 or ask your social worker or medical service provider to contact us.
